The tree doesn’t fall far from the apple? In an odd twist on the old adage, one 57-year-old mom from England is making headlines for spending approximately $58,000 on plastic surgery in order to look like her 36-year-old daughter.
On a recent episode of Barcroft TV‘s Plastic Surgery Stories, Janet Horrocks reveals that she’s desperate to look like her daughter, Jane Cunliffe, by any means necessary.
“I based my transformation on my daughter, because she’s beautiful, I created her, and I wanted her look,” Horrocks explains simply, adding that when people mistake the mother-daughter pair for sisters, she feels “great” about herself.
“It makes me feel on top of the world, and it makes me think that all the money I spent was worth every penny,” she said. “They would never in a million years think that I was her mother and she was my daughter.”
Both women share similar heads of long, platinum blonde hair, high cheekbones, and defined lips.
But whereas Cunliffe has grown into her looks naturally, Horrocks has no problem listing the many procedures she’s had in order to look like her offspring.
“A breast augmentation, upper eyes, lower eyes, nose, laser resurfacing, botox, fillers, lips, another breast augmentation,” she ticks off the surgeries.
“I have the right to copy her look because I created her in the first place, and she’s already got my looks anyway, so all I’m doing is re-emphasizing that look again,” Horrocks reasoned.
Cunliffe admitted on the show that she’s not too thrilled about her mom’s obsession with her looks.
“When I found out first that my mom wanted to base herself on me, I was terrified,” she said. “I was not impressed. I didn’t want my mom to look like me. I didn’t want people thinking she was my sister. I wanted them to know she was my mom. My mom didn’t take my feelings into consideration.”
