Keeping busy. Naomi Watts was on the set of her latest project hours before news broke of her split from Liev Schreiber on Monday, September 26.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 47, appeared to be in good spirits as she filmed her new Netflix series, Gypsy, in New York City. She took phone calls in between scenes and smiled while working alongside the crew. The blonde Brit showed off her tiny frame in a white top, maroon skirt and long coat.
As previously reported, Watts and the Ray Donovan actor, 48, decided to end their 11-year relationship after a few months of reflection. The pair began dating in 2005 and are parents of sons Alexander “Sasha,” 9, and Samuel, 7.
“It is with great love, respect and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship,” the pair told Us Weekly in a joint statement on Monday. “While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”
Watts and Schreiber didn’t show any sign of trouble on social media ahead of the announcement. Earlier this month, Watts posted a cute selfie of the two as they promoted their film The Bleeder at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“Congratulations @lievschreiber #proud as punch. 👊 #thebleeder #chuckwepner @venicefilmfestival,” she captioned the pic. Schreiber shared an equally adorable snapshot of the two while overseas.
Schreiber fawned over Watts, too. On September 3, he shared a leggy pic of her on Instagram. “Ay dios mio…” he gushed in the caption.
It’s not uncommon for the stars to gush over their adorable sons as well. Last week, Watts called Schreiber and Alexander the “dapper duo” as they headed to the Emmy Awards together. Schreiber also recently posted pics of their sons splashing in their pool and heading off to their first day of school.
