Natasha Lyonne is setting the record straight on her political affiliation after she reacted to a recent post from President Donald Trump about Elon Musk.
“So is Natasha Lyonne MAGA now or am I misreading her posts?” a fan wrote via X on Wednesday, October 21. Lyonne, 47, responded, “Not MAGA.”
The confusion came after Lyonne reacted to Trump’s recent post praising Musk, 55.
“A BIG THANK YOU to our legendary friend, @ElonMusk, for his incredible generosity in giving SpaceX Stock to millions of American children through TRUMP ACCOUNTS!” Trump, 80, wrote via X on Monday, October 19. “This is exactly what was envisioned when we created TRUMP ACCOUNTS — Bringing together the GREAT PRIVATE SECTOR, Elon and so many more, to invest in our children, by far our greatest and most important asset, and give every American Child a piece of the American Dream. Thank you Elon! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
In a since-deleted post, Lyonne shared four emojis: a rocket, the saluting face, a sun and the sunglasses face.
The controversial post comes six months after Lyonne made headlines for being escorted off a Delta Air Lines flight at LAX in April. At the time, the Poker Face star was spotted in a first-class seat on a red-eye flight hours after she walked the Euphoria season 3 red carpet. An eyewitness claimed to Page Six that the actress seemed “out of it.”
The situation escalated when Lyonne reportedly didn’t respond after flight attendants asked her multiple times to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt for takeoff. She appeared to be dozing off beneath her sunglasses and at one point reportedly got startled, telling an attendant, “Ah! You scared me!”
Lyonne was then reportedly told she needed to deplane.
The captain reportedly told passengers afterward, “We have a passenger who, for whatever reason … wouldn’t follow some basic commands … We had a passenger who didn’t seem up to the task tonight, so that’s why they were asked to be booked on another flight — I do apologize for the inconvenience, but we will get you to New York as quickly and as safely as possible.”
Lyonne later addressed the incident via X.
“My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports. 💞,” she wrote. “Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with @DrewBarrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards.” (The Orange Is the New Black alum was reportedly scheduled to appear on The Drew Barrymore Show the day after the flight.)
In another post, Lyonne added, “I took a Lunesta [sleeping medication] once seated, to ensure some shut eye on the Delta One redeye flight to NYC. Boarded seamlessly with just a backpack and sneakers, eager for a nap. Plan was to be bushy-tailed & beauty rested, as I was meant to head straight to glam for a slot with our beloved @DrewBarrymore, upon landing. [I] was looking forward to seeing Drew & an in-depth convo, but I guess ICE had other plans.”
Lyonne claimed that she was “detained” by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, which the Department of Homeland Security denied.
“Neither ICE nor TSA escorted or detained Natasha Lyonne,” the organization told TMZ.
Lyonne joked about the incident in an interview with Page Six, calling it a “performance art piece.”
“It’s been a doozy,” she said. “You know, I’m grateful to be something of a Marathon Man. And the good news is, I have managed to catch three flights since that last one. I do seem to show up on time, hit those marks, despite it all.”
