Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend Nick Gordon is still hopeful he’ll be reconnected with the star despite her family’s wishes and the ongoing criminal investigation. In a new statement to Us Weekly, Gordon’s attorneys say he’s trying to be by her bedside while she remains in a medically induced coma at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, but is respecting her family’s “requests.”
“Nick has been trying, privately, to do everything he can to see Bobbi Kristina cooperatively,” his lawyers tell Us. “He has respected the family’s wishes and for that reason alone has not returned to the hospital and risked a public confrontation. But he desperately wants to be with the one he loves and continues to hope that his request will be granted.”
The statement comes after Bobbi Kristina’s dad, Bobby Brown, revealed that Gordon was never officially married to Bobbi and follows news that prior to Bobbi’s hospitalization, there had been a domestic abuse 911 call which may have involved the couple. Gordon also remains under investigation for unexplained injuries found on Bobbi’s body. As previously reported, police confirmed to Us that the entire case is being treated as a criminal investigation.
Sources close to Whitney Houston’s only daughter, who was found facedown in a bathtub by Gordon, also admitted to Us that “Nick used to be a little hotheaded around her,” and that he was “not good for her.”
Despite all the claims, Gordon’s lawyers previously told Us that he “remains in constant prayer for his companion and he hopes to be reunited with her soon.”
And Gordon isn’t the only one not allowed near Bobbi, either. As detailed in the new issue of Us Weekly, Bobby Brown’s lawyer issued a statement on Feb. 13 slamming insight coming from their extended family. “At this time it is requested that the media cease speaking with unauthorized members of the family,” family lawyer Christopher Brown told Us. “The integrity of the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina must remain uncompromised. Various members of the family have provided media interviews, however, none of them are approved visitors to see Bobbi Kristina. None of them have firsthand knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s treatment and the medical staff at Emory University Hospital has not communicated with them.”
