Nick Gordon is carrying on. Spotted out and about in Florida over the weekend, the boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina Brown wore a somber expression during a Sunday, June 28 shopping trip. Wearing a white collared polo shirt and jeans, Gordon made one of few public outings since Whitney Houston‘s daughter was placed into hospice care.
“She is in God’s hands now,” Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Pat Houston said of her 22-year-old niece when the family announced her move to the hospice facility on Wednesday, June 24. “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. We thank everyone for their support and prayers.” The family’s decision to move Bobbi Kristina came nearly five months after she was first hospitalized in January after being found facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub at her home.
Also on June 24, Whitney Houston’s ailing daughter’s conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, brought suit against Gordon, 25, accusing him of assaulting his girlfriend. In the complaint obtained by Us Weekly, Gordon is said to have dragged Bobbi Kristina upstairs by her hair, withdrawn funds without authorization, and knocked out her teeth hours before she was found in the bathtub. The lawsuit seeks $10 million in damages.
“No human being, male or female, should endure what Bobbi Kristina endured,” Hargrove’s statement read to Us. “Pat Houston and Bobby Brown have done all they can to take care of Bobbi Kristina since this terrible tragedy occurred. I have worked closely with both of them and we all want the very best for Bobbi Kristina.”
Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, has maintained a vigil at his daughter’s bedside at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga. “[How is his] state of mind? In a nutshell, not good. Not good,” Brown’s New Edition bandmate Johnny Gill told Entertainment Tonight of Brown. “We just had a conversation yesterday. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”
Gordon, for his part, is trying to remain positive. “We keep praying. She has fought hard this long,” he tweeted June 24 before deleting his Twitter account. “Don’t give up hope.”
