Definitely not a football head! Nickelodeon confirmed this past week that the network is reviving its beloved '90s cartoon series, Hey Arnold!, as a made-for-TV movie, but the more urgent question is what happened to the original voice behind the character?
In 1996, Lane Toran tackled the role of Arnold in the first 41 episodes of the iconic series. Nearly 20 years later, Toran is now a super hot, bearded hunk with a hipster lumberjack look. However, he still works in the entertainment industry and occasionally acts, including recent credits on TV shows like Nashville and Satisfaction.
On Instagram, Toran, 33, shares super artsy photos including snaps of himself deep in the woods and other pictures in which he looks reflective by the sea. Unfortunately, he is a taken man. Toran frequently posts photos of himself with his girlfriend, Jaclyn Betham, who is just as pretty as he is.
In one snap taken this past September, Toran describes Betham as his "favorite." Another recent snap taken this past week shows the actor giving his lady an affectionate peck on the side of her head. He captioned the moment with a quote: "The most beautiful curve on a woman is her smile."
While Toran is on the forefront of our minds, many Hey Arnold! fans are thrilled with Nickelodeon's news that it plans to bring back the series for youngsters to enjoy.
"Kids who grew up on these characters are now of the age that they are having kids and families themselves,” Russell Hicks, president, content development and production for Nickelodeon Group, told Variety on Monday, Nov. 23. “Our library has come to fruition and it’s time for it to start coming back to life."
