Late singer Oliver Tree will be laid to rest in a celebration of life memorial service.
A funeral for Tree will be held at the Quarry Amphitheater at UC Santa Cruz in California on Saturday, July 25, according to a press release shared with Us. The service will be a closed, ticketed event for Tree’s family and friends, though fans will be able to watch a livestream of the memorial.
The celebration of life will also showcase unreleased video content, caskets of each charter, live music surprises and more, per a poster shared via social media that promise attendees and virtual streamers to “expect the unexpected.”
The memorial will also feature speakers including Diplo, Logan Paul, Ethan Klein and Aaron Mercury. All proceeds of tickets sold will support Tree’s nonprofit, Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses, to fund aspiring artists in their own careers.
Us confirmed last month that Tree died after a fatal helicopter crash in Brazil that also killed five other passengers.
“Oliver Tree Nickell, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in a tragic accident at the age of 32,” a statement read. “Known as Oliver Tree, he was an artist, storyteller, singer, songwriter, producer, director, editor, actor, filmmaker, entertainer, traveler and creative force. He had just performed in São Paolo as part of his seven-continent world tour.”
The obituary added, “Oliver was more than a musician. He was a true artist in every sense of the world, seeing the world as a stage for his performance art. He pushed boundaries in every form of media and life. Oliver was on a mission to bring the world together through art and inspiring other artists to create.”
The “Life Goes On” singer rose to fame in 2016 with the release of his debut single, “When I’m Down.”
“As an artist, there’s not a lot of new things you can do. Every chord progression has been played [as have] every single lyric [and] rhyming pattern,” Tree said on a December 2023 episode of the “Happy Endings” podcast. “It’s, like, there’s only so much that can be done. So for me, the excitement happens in fusion and taking things that don’t fit with another thing.”
He added at the time, “I’m all about juxtaposition, so you merge things that really shouldn’t go together and find creative ways to blend them.”
