It may have taken a while for Jason Sudeikis to make a move on now-fiancee Olivia Wilde, but the former Saturday Night Live comedian’s rhythm was never the problem. According to Wilde, 29, one of the first things that she noticed about Sudeikis were his dance moves.
“I met Jason, and I thought he was so charming,” she told the October issue of Allure. “He’s a great dancer and I’m a sucker for great dancers. But he didn’t even get my number. Over the next six months we kept running into each other. [One night] my best guy friend walked up to him and said, ‘This is Olivia’s number. Use it.’ That was the beginning.”
Wilde and Sudeikis, 37, announced their engagement earlier this year, and have been open about their love for one another ever since. In the September issue of Maxim, Sudeikis gushed about his fiancee, whom he began seeing in December 2011.
“You know, being beautiful is actually only like the fifth or sixth of the things that are amazing about her,” Sudeikis said. “She’s really hilarious. And she loves basketball!”
Part of what grounds them both is their casual attitude toward fame. In that same interview, Sudeikis mentioned that he “might be done with showbiz in a year. Or showbiz might be done with me.”
For Wilde, fame is, indeed, just a “side effect.”
“There was definitely a sense that no one was interesting because they were famous. They were interesting because of what they did,” Wilde said. “And that has stuck with me because when people say, ‘Oh, you’ve made it. Isn’t it great? You’re famous.’ I’m like, ugh. That’s sort of a side effect. It’s like the side effect of a medicine: ‘You may experience anal itching and fame.'”
