Paige DeSorbo is all about Hannah Berner and Amanda Batula reconciling after their falling out on Summer House.
DeSorbo, 33, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her friends potentially becoming close again at the Actors Rising event presented by The Actor Awards and ELLE in Hollywood on Thursday, February 26.
When asked if there’s a chance for Batula, 34, who recently split from husband Kyle Cooke, and Berner, 34, to ever be friends again, DeSorbo replied, “You know, I never say never.”
She explained, “I’m always rooting for it, but I feel like it’s been so many years now I have permanently removed myself from the middle of it. So if they did, I would love it, and if they don’t, that’s OK.” (Berner left the show after season 5 because of conflicts with the couple.)
The “Giggly Squad” podcast cohost gushed about how excited she is to see Batula thriving since announcing her split with Cooke, 43.
“I’m just so proud of her,” DeSorbo said. “I’ve always wanted her to just be happy. And I think at the end of the day, they both want that, and I think [Amanda and Kyle] deserve that, so I’m happy for them.”
When it comes to Batula and Cooke getting back together, DeSorbo said she’s not sure that it’s in the cards.
“I don’t know as much information about [that] obviously, I think they’re both keeping it very amicable, and I think that’s very impressive of both of them,” she said. “And I think that they have a great friendship, so I hope they can maintain that.”
DeSorbo, who is serving as the Actors Awards pre-show host on Sunday, March 1, shared that she’s “not” watching season 10 of Summer House. “I’m doing a little detox. I feel like I talked to them in real time,” she explained, noting that this is her first season not appearing on the Bravo series since she started in season 3. “So I’m like, I don’t need to watch. I know what happens.”
In January, Cooke and Batula announced their split in a joint Instagram statement. “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways,” the couple, who tied the knot in 2021, wrote. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”
They added, “It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time. Since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
As for DeSorbo’s love life, she exclusively told Us that she’s seeing her “first Italian” man, Joe D’Amelio.
“We’re exclusive. I’m in my 30s, so it’s not like I’m out every single weekend, going out on multiple dates, like I would have been in my 20s, but it’s just been really fun and, honestly, very relaxing,” she said.
DeSorbo also joked about Italian men having a loud reputation. “I feel like they get a rep that they’re not quiet, but they’re quiet, and I appreciate that,” she quipped. “Like, they know when to speak and when not to, and I like that. And that’s important. It’s important in a man. Know when to shut it.”
