The Houston family is preparing to say their last goodbyes to Bobbi Kristina Brown. On Thursday, July 30, Brown's aunt Pat Houston visited the St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Ga., where her late niece's funeral is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
The only daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston will be laid to rest this weekend, after her relatives struggled to find a date that they could all make for the service. Her funeral was originally intended for Thursday, July 30, but the service was changed to Saturday, Aug. 1 to accommodate additional family members.
A source tells Us Weekly that a private burial will take place on Monday, Aug. 3, at Westfield, N.J.'s Fairview Cemetery. Brown is expected to be buried alongside her mother, who died in February 2012.
"Krissy was and is an angel," the 22-year-old singer's father told Us in a statement on July 27, one day after her passing. "I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable."
Bobbi Kristina died on Sunday, July 26, following an extended hospitalization. She was found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31 at her suburban Atlanta home. Her estranged boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is the subject of an investigation into her death, launched after her conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, alleged in court papers that Gordon physically abused Bobbi Kristina in the hours prior to her death, and withdrew funds from her bank account without permission.
