Awkward alert!
Katy Perry settled in for an evening of basketball at the Staples Center in Los Angles on Tuesday — accompanied by her dad, Keith Hudson.
As the L.A. Lakers squared off with the Dallas Mavericks, other celebs taking in the action for NBA’s opening night included David Beckham, Adam Levine and girlfriend Behati Prinsloo . . . and Russell Brand, Perry’s ex-husband!
Clad in a sexy leopard-print dress, sipping beer and spiritedly cheering on the Lakers with her father, the 28-year-old “Part of Me” singer sat on opposite ends of the massive arena — with the British comic, 35, wearing jeans, a leather vest and sleeves grey shirt and flanked by two young boys watching the game.
E! News reports that the former spouses (Brand filed for divorce in late December of last year after 14 months of marriage) didn’t speak or exchange eye contact.
Since finalizing their divorce earlier this year, both Perry and Brand have moved on — with Perry dating the likes of Florence + The Machine’s Robert Ackroyd and John Mayer, while Brand has stepped out with actress Isabella Brewster and the Spice Girls’ Geri Halliwell. (At Tuesday’s game, Brand was also photographed giving David Beckham — wife to Halliwell’s former bandmate Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham.)
“Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don’t,” Brand has said of marriage. “But if you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways.”
Will the pop princess ever remarry? “Never say never, I guess you’d say,” she recently told ELLE.
