Just call him Prince Charming! Stepping in for his brother, Prince William, Prince Harry escorted Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince George to Queen Elizabeth II's annual Christmas party at Buckingham Palace.
The trio, including the 2-year-old tot, were snapped driving to the London palace on Tuesday, December 15, with the duchess, 33, clad in her favorite crimson skirt suit by Luisa Spagnoli for the occasion. Harry, 31, looked handsome in a suit, while George looked sweet in a sweater over a white Rachel Riley top with a Peter Pan collar.
Of course, it wouldn't be a family affair without the newest royal! Princess Charlotte, 7 months, was also in attendance, accompanied by her nanny, Maria Borrallo.
Sadly, Prince William couldn't join in the festivities because he was attending a memorial service for John Pelly, father of his best friend, Guy. The funeral was held at St. Michael's Church in Mere, Wiltshire, about 100 miles outside London.
While the prince was surely missed, Queen Elizabeth II had a full house of guests to attend to at her annual bash — a royal tradition that allows Her Majesty to catch up with more distant relations. Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Sophie Wessex, Zara Phillips, Mike Tindall, Prince Edward, and Princess Eugenie, just to name a few, were all at the palace for the seasonal event.
But the duchess didn't just lunch. She officially took over the Duke of Edinburgh's patronage of the RAF Air Cadets. With her new post, Catherine becomes Honorary Air Commandant of the 42,000 cadets. It marks her first role with an official link to the military.
It has been a celebratory week for the duchess. On Tuesday, she visited the Anna Freud Centre Family School for its Christmas Party. There, the brunette beauty met and played with the children, joining in arts and crafts and taking part in a drumming workshop.
