During her time of need, Paris Jackson has the support of her big brother, Prince Michael. The late Michael Jackson's eldest child has cancelled a planned appearance on German talk show Wetten, dass . . . ? (Wanna Bet?) to be shot in Mallorca, Spain. "In light of the situation, Prince Michael will not be taking part in the show," a ZDF spokesman tells Us Weekly of the 16-year-old, who has been making TV appearances over the past year.
"We had been in contact with their management since last night but this morning it was confirmed that he will not want to leave the country," the rep continued. Understandable. His sister Paris, 15, is currently recuperating at an L.A. hospital following her shocking suicide attempt. After cutting herself, downing 20 Motrin pills and writing a suicide note, Paris was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday, but is now "physically fine," family members said.
Added the network rep: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Paris and the whole family at this difficult time."
Via her attorney, the siblings' grandmother, Katherine Jackson, told Us Weekly of the incident: "Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you."
Michael Jackson died almost exactly four years ago at age 50 of a drug overdose.
