Berry, berry different! A retired David Letterman blended in with supermarket shoppers on Wednesday, March 23, in St. Bart's, where he was photographed clutching a bag filled with strawberries while out and about with his wife, Regina Lasko.
The former CBS Late Show host, 68, stepped out for the occasion in a white T-shirt and navy and yellow shorts. In his arms, Letterman clutched a bag designed with ripe strawberries. Most striking of all, however, was his brand-new look, which includes a bushy, white, Santa Claus–inspired beard and a bald head.
Letterman first unveiled his startling transformation while jogging in St. Bart's on Tuesday. However, he seemed content with life and even flashed a smile at the camera during his jog.
Prior to his departure from the Late Show in May 2015, Letterman said he would be savoring his retirement and time away from the spotlight.
"I don't think I'll ever be back in this building again, honestly," Letterman told CBS Sunday Morning that same month. "There have been a lot of great things to celebrate. There have been a lot of arguments, nearly fistfights and every emotion that people can share for over 20 years … My family will be here. Many people have been with me for 33 years, 35 years, going back to the morning show. We'll go and have a little party, and then the dark cloud of never-ending depression will set in."
