Rob Lowe’s son has tied the knot in a star-studded Santa Barbara, California, wedding.
Matthew Lowe and Emily Markus said “I do” on Saturday, October 10, in a ceremony officiated by Gwyneth Paltrow.
The newlyweds were surrounded by a number of famous faces, including Katy Perry, Cameron Diaz, Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo, Maria Shriver, Chris Pratt, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Abby Champion, Zoe Saldaña, Marco Perego-Saldaña and more, per photos obtained by Page Six.
Matthew is the son of Rob and Sheryl Berkoff, who also share son John Lowe. The wedding comes days after Rob’s brother Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, announced the death of their 13-year-old daughter.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the couple said in a statement to multiple outlets on September 29, describing their daughter as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives,” the message continued. “Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. Chad and Painter are also the parents of daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Days after announcing Fiona’s death, Chad returned to social media to share a moving post on grief. On Thursday, October 8, Chad reposted footage from Olivia Hunt’s “On Healing” podcast via his Instagram Story, where guest Gerry Hussey discussed energy and faith.
“It’s a frequency, it’s an energy field and we possess it all the time within ourselves. We are all part of the frequency. We all possess direct access to that,” Hussey said on the June 2025 podcast episode. “We both possess the human and the divine, and through consciousness and awareness when we awaken the peaceful observer and we get beyond our physical human emotions and our physical human needs and the needs of the ego, and we just let go and we release all that and we connect to a feeling, that is the divine frequency.”
Hussey called the phenomenon the “Christ consciousness,” sharing that he has experienced it on multiple occasions.
“You have to just trust because when you see the world through the eyes of the human ego, nothing makes sense,” he said. “When you ask yourself the deeper, bigger questions and you move beyond human existence and through meditation or something else, you experience the transcendental experience. We are connected to everything that is, it just makes sense and there’s nothing there but peace in love.”
