Wrong fit from the start?

Russell Brand opened up about his divorce from Katy Perry once again in a recent interview with Australia's 60 Minutes. The 37-year-old british comedian said his marriage to the 27-year-old singer ended after 14 months because they weren't compatible.

"Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don't," Brand said of marriage. "But if you sort of sense there's an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways."

Instead, Brand now believes that only people with similar interests should get married.

"I think if you're someone who's really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone who's into mountain biking, and if you're really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who's into Eastern mysticism," he said. "I think if you're a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble. I've been in a lot of trouble."

Brand and Perry married on Oct. 23, 2010 in India. But the actor filed for divorce on Dec. 30, 2011. During an interview with Howard Stern in July, the Rock of Ages star said their long distance relationship was difficult to balance.

"She's young, successful and dedicated," Brand explained of Perry's career. "[The reality is] you can't fully understand it until you do it. I was really into the idea of marriage and having children."
