Such a prince! Ryan Gosling stepped out of the spotlight at an event for his new movie Lost River, and turned the attention of the crowd toward one special audience member.
The hunky star, 34, took the stage at the 2015 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, March 14, to promote his debut directorial effort. He was joined by a panel of the film's actors, including Saoirse Ronan, Ben Mendelsohn, and his love Eva Mendes, but the star-studded cast wasn't quite as exciting as the viewer in question.
After Gosling and his collaborators answered questions from other audience members about Lost River, a woman sitting in the Topfer Theatre's first row got up the courage to address the panel. Grabbing one of the final questions of the event, the woman began, "I think your film is amazing." While she was a fan of the fantasy flick, the woman changed the subject fairly quickly.
"I'm going to kind of take away from [it for] a second if I can," she said trepidatiously of Lost River. "[I'm going to] ask my girlfriend of 11 years if she'll marry me."
As the crowd let out an audible gasp, Ronan and Mendes brought their hands together and grinned while Gosling exclaimed, "We've got a marriage proposal going on!"
"Do you want the mic?" the Crazy Stupid Love star offered, stepping across the stage to hand his microphone off to the woman so she could better amplify her romantic gesture.

Addressing her love, the speaker said, "This really wasn't planned… but, my heart started pounding and I couldn't help it."
"We've been together 11 years and have had many ups and downs," the woman said as she showed off an open ring box. "She finally moved here to be with me just a few months ago after two years of being apart. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?"
