Take Us to this town immediately! Hyundai released its Super Bowl 50 spot on Monday, February 1, and it stars the ever-so-handsome Ryan Reynolds, who distracts two female drivers as they cruise into a town filled with his clones.
The clip opens with their electric blue Hyundai Elantra heading into picturesque Ryanville, “Population: Yes.” Suddenly, Ryan Reynolds on a bike zips past their car, and the two women — including the driver — ogle him without keeping their eyes on the road ahead.
Then, they drive past Ryan Reynolds in a convertible getting pulled over by policeman Ryan Reynolds. “Can you give me a warning?” driver Reynolds asks. “Sure, warning!” responds his uniformed clone. “Here comes your ticket.”
Salt-N-Pepa’s “Whatta Man” fittingly plays in the background as the women continue to drive past other versions of Ryan Reynolds. It’s hard for them to keep their eyes on the road, though, and the car suddenly comes to a stop. The Elantra nearly hits Ryan Reynolds walking a dog — but luckily, the car stops on its own. (Phew!)
“We all get distracted,” Hyundai explains of its Super Bowl spot. “And that’s why the All-New Hyundai Elantra protects you with advanced safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. After all, you never know what you’re (not) going to run into out there.”
