Sarah Hyland is in a better place! The Modern Family actress is now dating her former Vampire Academy costar Dominic Sherwood, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm.
Hyland and Sherwood, both 24, were recently spotted getting cozy together while attending the opening of West Hollywood’s hot spot Blind Dragon on Jan. 15. “They were talking close and she had her hand on his leg. Then they would kiss,” an onlooker tells Us.
The new couple continued the fun at Hollywood’s Warwick Nightclub on Saturday, Jan. 31. Clad in a black leather jacket and jeans, Hyland was spotted smooching her beau as they waited for a cab outside.
Hyland and Sherwood played Natalie and Christian Ozera, respectively, in the 2014 fantasy comedy Vampire Academy.
This is the first relationship for Hyland since her messy split with ex-boyfriend Matt Prokop. Us broke news of their breakup back in August after five years of dating. In September, she was granted a temporary restraining order after she claimed in court documents that Prokop “choked” and abused her.
The following month, she briefly opened up about the scary ordeal during an appearance on The Meredith Vieira Show. “There are two quotes that I want to say. One is a Dylan Thomas poem: ‘Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light,’ which is one of my favorite poems,” she said. “It just strikes a chord in me; and also Robert Frost: ‘The only way out is through.'”
She added: “People have to go through things in order to become the person they are today, and that’s that.”
