Kim's not smiling down under.
In Australia to promote a handbag line with sister Khloe (and with Khloe's hubby Lamar Odom as their "bodyguard"), Kim Kardashian put on a brave face — but still a sad face — granting her first interview since she filed for divorce from Kris Humpries on Monday.
"I mean, you know, in a tough situation. I think I'm trying to do the best I can, and it's actually a bit of an escape to come here," Kim, 31, said during a videotaped radio interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show.
As she did in her Tuesday night blog post, the reality star defended accusations that her weddding and marriage to Humphries, 26, was a sham and a money-making scheme. "I don't think I'm ready to go into, you know, the details of what went on in my marriage," she said. "But I do want to make clear that I would never marry for a TV show, for money, for anything like that. I think that's really ridiculous that I have to even defend that."
She added philosophically: "I guess, you know, that comes along with when you film your wedding for a reality show."
At her side, sister Khloe, 27, offered her moral support. "The thing I've always admired about Kim, and I know right now it's of course too soon, but I've always admired her view on life and love," said Khloe. "I don't have that, I never had that view. So I've always loved that about Kim. It makes her such a real person and I never want that to go away."
