Slipknot is confirming the iconic heavy metal band is no longer affiliated with DJ and keyboard player Sid Wilson amid rumors he was kicked out of the group.

“Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” a statement shared via the rock music festival Knotfest’s official Instagram account on Friday, August 14, read. “We wish him the best in his future endeavours.”

The caption continued, “Slipknot have parted ways with Sid Wilson. The announcement could briefly be found on the band’s website.”

According to multiple media outlets including Rolling Stone, People and more, the band did share the same announcement via their website, though it was subsequently deleted shortly after it was posted, per a screenshot captured by the media outlet Stereogum.

TMZ reported weeks ago that Wilson had been unceremoniously kicked out of the band. The keyboardist has not publicly responded to the band’s announcement. Us has reached out to a rep for Wilson for comment regarding his status within the band but did not hear back at the time of publication.

The news of Wilson’s departure after nearly 30 years with the band comes just days after he reportedly referred to himself as a member. According to video shared via social media, Wilson, 49, cohosted the World Scratch Invitational earlier this week, in which he introduced himself a DJ from “the world famous Slipknot.”

“What’s up ya’ll, Sid, DJ Starscream/#0, from the world famous Slipknot, how ya’ll doing tonight,” Wilson told the crowd, per the footage.

The news also comes in the wake of his broken engagement to Kelly Osbourne, daughter of the late legendary rockstar Ozzy Osbourne.

On August 3, Kelly, 41, seemingly threw some very public and not-so-cryptic shade at Wilson accusing him of not taking “responsibility” for his alleged actions, though she did not elaborate any further.

“Strange how the loudest defense of the guilty is rarely innocence … It’s distraction,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories at the time. “When the mask slips, they don’t face the mirror they throw it at someone else.”

She added, “I also heard that when you break a mirror you get 7 years bad luck! Or is that just karma? This is why I always take accountability. As they say some are sicker than others.”

Osbourne, who shares 3-year-old son Sidney with her ex-fiancé, also shared an inspirational quote about mothers keeping their children safe.

“My son’s little heart once beat right beside mine. So trust me when I say … I will protect it all costs,” the Everyday Motherhood quote read.

In a subsequent post, Osbourne wrote another cryptic message, seemingly directed at the former Slipknot member.

“Wake the f*** up and take some responsibility I will not take your s*** anymore! I’m done,” she wrote. “I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. Let me heal. I can’t protect you from yourself anymore.”

Us reached out to Wilson at the time for comment regarding his ex’s posts but did not hear back.
