There are many sides to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, though not all of them are shown on MTV's Jersey Shore.
"You see more of the party side of me, which I call Snooki, my alter ego," Polizzi, 23, explained on Today Tuesday. "Right now, you're talking to Nicole, the soft, calm, business-ready person."
The self-proclaimed "Princess of Poughkeepsie" added that her behavior on the show — which includes flashing her vagina in nightclubs, being arrested for public intoxication and hooking up with multiple men — isn't something viewers should emulate.
"Snooki's definitely not a role model. Snooki's just there to have fun and just live her life," the reality star said. "Nicole, I would say, could be a role model. I'm very strong and independent. I'm just lovable, I guess."
Polizzi appeared on the morning news show to promote her new book, Confessions of a Guidette — a tome she says will inspire women across the globe.
"A Guidette is a girl with a strong personality. She doesn't let anybody bring her down. She likes tanning, she's very independent and she likes to be flashy — like gaudy," Polizzi told host Matt Lauer. "It's a lifestyle. You can be punk, a prep, gothic — we're Guidettes."
