Steven McBee Jr. and Allie Eklund were planning their future together before cheating accusations blew up their relationship.
“They had only been dating for about seven months but did talk about getting engaged this year,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly after McBee, 33, sent shockwaves by accusing Eklund, 29, of cheating while at the Stagecoach Festival on Monday, April 27. “It was heading in that direction and they were very serious.”
The insider reveals that McBee and Eklund were “inseparable since the day they met” through a mutual friend, William Van Orsdel, in 2025. (Fans of The McBee Dynasty will see the beginning of their romance unfold on season 3 of the Bravo series later this year.)
“[They] rarely spent time apart splitting their time between Texas and Missouri,” the source explains, adding that the pair “had a rule about not spending more than a few days apart” before the Stagecoach scandal.
The source tells Us that while “things were going really well,” the music festival outburst was allegedly “not the first time Allie had experienced this type of behavior from Steven.”
The McBee Dynasty star apparently had a “track record of being verbally abusive,” the insider says, noting that McBee and Eklund were “working through it.”
“Things were good between them and they were having a lot of fun together at Stagecoach before he left the festival on the final day,” the source adds. “They seemed to be in great spirits and looked very in love.”
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for McBee and Eklund for comment.
McBee and Eklund went public with their relationship in November 2025. While they kept much of their romance off social media, McBee was recently spotted wearing a Triple E Ranch sweatshirt, which is the clothing brand Eklund founded in honor of her family’s Texas ranch.
All seemed well when the pair attended the Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, California, which ran from Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26. However, after McBee left the grounds to go back to Missouri for work, their relationship took a turn when he accused Eklund of cheating on him.
On Monday, April 27, McBee alleged via Instagram that he was sent messages and video footage of Eklund getting cozy with another man. “I just know there was hand holding, grinding, dancing, drunken stupor at an afterparty,” he claimed.
“One person at the gym on a Monday,” he followed up in a separate post, which featured a snapshot ahead of his morning workout. “The other drunk and cheating at an afterparty.”
McBee also hinted that he was done with Eklund.
Eklund, for her part, denied the cheating allegations in her own statement shared via Instagram Stories on Monday, writing, “This is really sad to see, and I’m genuinely at a loss for words.”
She noted, “Posting everything online before we talked is extremely disheartening and extremely unfair, considering l’ve protected Steven many times during the course of our relationship.”
The model shared alleged screenshots of the messages McBee sent her, in which he allegedly called her a “hooker.” McBee allegedly accused Eklund of wanting to be “at every party hooking up with every guy possible,” telling her to “have a good life f***ing slut.”
McBee appeared to react to Eklund releasing their alleged text exchange, writing via his Instagram Story, “Will say this — without a doubt crashed out after this text was sent to her and her manager and said regrettable things — and I should’ve done better at that moment and I do apologize for that.”
He explained, “But after ignoring my calls and only getting a ‘I’m still at this party’ response — with not enough respect to walk outside and answer my call to explain things, I had to crash out.”
Eklund, for her part, told her followers on Monday that although this is a “painful” situation, she is “not looking to escalate things any further.”
“I’d like this to end here. I’ve said what feels necessary in response to his actions and I plan on taking time to process and move forward,” she concluded.
