What a way to kick off the day! Taylor Swift rang in her 26th birthday on Sunday, December 13, and started the day by sharing an adorable snapshot of herself via Instagram.
“Today I begin my 26th year of freaking out over stuff,” she captioned an adorable throwback shot of herself as a toddler, tousle-haired and wearing a Little Mermaid sweatshirt.
In the photo, the 1989 songstress has a shocked expression — not too dissimilar to her famous surprised faces!
Swift’s pals also took to social media to share some serious love for the notorious Girl Squad leader.
“I don’t know life without you Taylor,” Selena Gomez captioned a black-and-white collage of the best then-and-nows. “Happy birthday!”
Jaime King did one better, with a long tribute post to Swift, posted just before midnight late Saturday night.
“Dear Tay – Tomorrow is your birthday and I will be in the air,” she captioned the shot, a gorgeous close-up of the “Wildest Dreams” singer. “This picture I took of you brings back the fondest of memories. It captures all of your beauty that I know, that the world knows, in one photograph. You have the uncanny ability to just get straight into the Soul’s of us all in one shot.”
The 36-year-old actress called Swift her “sister,” and lauded her for her “unbeatable passion and true honesty.”
“To have changed the perception of female friendships (even in the smallest way) because somehow, in this crazy world where women want to hurt each other, we have a thoughtful group of friends where we have chosen to love each other through it all, and support our peers along the way & awith open arms you bring this sisterhood t life,” she wrote. “Intimately and sincerely, I love you, I am profoundly proud of you, your Light is a rare and brilliant gift.”
Earlier in the week, Swift was slammed for her “Nazi Barbie” tendencies by feminist scholar Camille Paglia, who criticized the singer’s “tittering, tongues-out mugging” group of friends.
Swift’s closest industry pals include Gomez, King, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Lorde, Hailee Seinfeld, and Blake Lively, among many others.
The singer wrapped up her 1989 World Tour just two days earlier, on Friday, December 11, in Melbourne, Australia.
