Do you smell the tension? Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may not have to identify the "candy ass" among his Fast 8 costars. According to TMZ, the former wrestler was alluding to Vin Diesel when he posted a rant about the unprofessional actors that he's been dealing with on set.
As previously reported, The Rock, 44, didn't drop names when he slammed some people in the blockbuster sequel's ensemble cast in an Instagram post on August 8.
"This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one," he wrote. "Some [of my male counterparts] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you’re right."
According to TMZ, The Rock and Diesel, 49, had a secret meeting about the rant while working on set in Atlanta on Tuesday. The Rock reportedly was unhappy with some decisions Diesel made on the project (he's also a producer), and the drama became so bad that shooting scenes became difficult.
Tyrese Gibson, who plays Roman Pearce in the movies, responded to Johnson's cryptic message on Tuesday. "Does any of us know why bro decided to jump out there with his post? No….. Would one assume that IF he’s going to jump out there and generalize and say ‘Male Co-Stars’ he would be more clear and call out names??? Of course he should of," the 37-year-old wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post, per Entertainment Tonight. "Let me calm you guys all the way down…….. I don't know WHO he has a problem [with] and I don't have any details of WHAT those problems are – as a matter of fact if I DID know I would tell you s–t!!!"
The Rock and Diesel have been working on the franchise together since 2013's Fast & Furious 6. Despite the recent alleged feud, the two actors appeared to be on good terms while filming Furious 7.
"When brother Dwayne steps into the Hobbs role … you can't tell where he ends, or the character begins," Diesel captioned a photo of the two via Facebook in October 2013. "Our third consecutive chapter in the saga, and the short hand we've established makes the film that much better each time. P.s. Proud of Our whole Fast team."
Other male actors in Fast 8 include Scott Eastwood, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell and Ludacris.
