Tobey Maguire and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer have finalized their divorce a decade after their separation.
Maguire, 51, and Meyer, 49, were each declared legally single in September court documents obtained by Us, in which the exes’ marital status was officially terminated. (Page Six was first to report the news.)
“[A] judgment of dissolution is entered,” the docs state. “Marital or domestic partnership status is terminated and the parties are restored to the status of single persons.”
Maguire and Meyer’s judgement is bifurcated, separating various undisclosed legal issues from their petition for divorce.
The Spider-Man actor and Meyer got married in 2007, later welcoming daughter Ruby, now 19, and son Otis, now 17. The pair separated in October 2016.
“After much soul searching and consideration, we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” Maguire and Meyer told Us in a joint statement. “As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.”
At the time, a source told Us that the now-exes “simply grew apart” but remained committed to amicably coparenting their two children.
“I now have an ex-husband who is my best friend and would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him — anything in the world,” Meyer said on a 2025 episode of the “Inside Edit” podcast. “[He is] the best dad, the best ex-husband, the best friend [and] the most generous.”
She continued, “I was lucky [that] nobody did anything in the marriage that was disrespectful or shattered us, but in the end, you got to think, ‘Not only am I putting my kids first, I’m putting me first.’”
Meyer officially filed for divorce in 2020. Maguire, for his part, has since become friends with Meyer’s fiancé, Geoffrey Ogunlesi. (Meyer and Ogunlesi welcomed their first child together, a daughter, in May.)
“Tobey and my fiancé, Geoff, love each other so much. When the fires happened [in January], I thought we were going to be fine in Brentwood,” Meyer gushed on the podcast last year, referring to the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires. “Tobey, at the time, was in West Hollywood because he’s redoing his house.”
Upon realizing that she would need to evacuate, Meyer called Maguire for support.
“I was, like, ‘I think we’re going to have to evacuate.’ And he’s, like, ‘You better get over here.’ So me, my fiancé, our two kids, Tobey, we all went into Tobey’s house [and] we are all sleeping there,” Meyer recalled. “Then, Geoff and I went to stay with Tobey’s best friend next door [to have more space]. We’re all living on this compound. It was the greatest.”
