Slow reader?! Tom Brady broke his silence following the report that alleges he knew about deflategate. During a Q&A session with Jim Gray at Salem State University on Thursday, May 7, a dapper-looking, suit-clad Brady said that he hasn’t had time to “digest” the report, which issued on May 6, claims that Brady was “at least generally aware” his team won their AFC Championship game by playing with deflated balls.
“I don’t have really any reaction, our owner commented on it yesterday,” the New England Patriots quarterback said when asked about the report commissioned by the NFL. “It’s only been 30 hours so I haven’t had much time to digest it fully but when I do I’ll be sure to let you know. And everybody else!”
When Gray jokingly asked “are you that slow of a reader?” Gisele Bundchen’s husband defended himself, saying “It is a 243-page report.”
“My athletic career’s been better than my academic career,” the hunk cracked. “I’m used to reading x’s and o’s, this was a bit longer.”
Regardless of the outcome — Brady says there’s “a process that’s going forth” — the Super Bowl champion said he can always count on his family and teammates.
“I’ve dealt with a lot of things in the past,” he told the sportscaster. “I dealt with this there months ago before the Super Bowl. I dealt with a lot of adversity over the course of my career, my life…I’m very fortunate to have so many people that love me and support me. Life is so much about the ups and downs. Certainly I accept my role and responsibility as a public figure and I think a lot of it, you take the good with the bad.”
