He woke up like this — with Gisele! Tom Brady spoke to Sports Illustrated about life after the New England Patriots' Super Bowl XLIX victory two Sundays ago, beginning with waking up to his supermodel wife.
"I had a nice moment with my wife Tuesday morning," Brady, 37, told SI columnist Peter King in a story published Monday, Feb. 9. "Monday was taken up with getting home, and I finally had a chance to sleep Monday night … We woke up Tuesday, and, now, she’s woken up twice next to me after Super Bowl losses."
The ever-competitive 2015 Super Bowl MVP recalled how he would wake up beside his wife after those losses (in years 2008 and 2012) and be in denial. "[For those] I was like, 'The game’s today, right? What I just had was a nightmare, right? That didn’t really happen, right?’" he revealed. "And this time, I just looked at her and it was, it was …"
After a momentary pause, King then asked Brady: "What happened? What’d you say?"
The athlete simply responded: "It was just special. Just pretty special."
For the superstar couple — parents to Benjamin, 5, Vivian, 2, and his son Jack, 7 — the obsession goes both ways. Bundchen recently opened up to Vogue UK in its March 2015 issue about her high-profile marriage.
"I knew Tom was the one straightaway," mused the world's highest-paid supermodel. "I could see it in his eyes that he was a man with integrity who believes in the same things I do."
Brady and the Patriots celebrated their Super Bowl win last Wednesday at the team's victory parade in Boston. While Bundchen cheered her husband on from afar, their son Benjamin joined his famous dad at the parade, even grasping the shiny Vince Lombardi Trophy in his arms.
