Tori Spelling: I’ve Made Some “Bad Choices Financially,” But “Things Are Good Now”

Tori Spelling appears on the Talk
During an appearance on the The Talk Nov. 6, Tori Spelling clarified rumors about her financial troubles, explaining, "I have made some bad choices financially" but "things are good now."

Time to talk it out! After making shocking claims in her new book, Spelling It Like It Is, Tori Spelling appeared on CBS' The Talk Wednesday, Nov. 6, to clear up any lingering confusion. The 40-year-old mother of four and wife of Dean McDermott clarified sections in her book where she suggested she has a sex tape that was stolen and financial troubles.

In her book, Spelling recalls a 2009 Valentine's Day celebration with her husband of seven years. "'Dean said, 'We should tape ourselves having sex.' He had a little portable tripod, and he set up his video camera on it" she writes. "Afterward, I checked my angles and they were good, so I allowed him to keep it."

But on The Talk, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum downplayed it as being an actual "sex tape," explaining that it was "something personal" they put on their computer and a friend took it.

If it did surface, would she allow it to go out? "No! Absolutely not," Spelling said on the show. "Give me some credit, I'm a mom of four."

During her appearance, Spelling also explained a buzzed-about section in the book where she suggested she and McDermott couldn't afford a vasectomy. But before she explained, Spelling said, "I just have to say, I love my husband. My poor husband, he's like, 'Why did you even write that? Now people are talking about my junk.' And I said, 'I'm sorry, babe.'"

"If you read the book, you will see that, within the story, it's a funny story that I talk about," she explained. "We were just saying that at the time financially . . . a vasectomy is too expensive at the doctor we went to." She further explained that they were interested in getting a more expensive reversible vasectomy.

Are finances still tough for the couple now?

"It's all so individual, I think. And you have to put it within context. I wrote about it simply because I think sometimes people think celebrities' lives are so glamorous and so perfect," she explained. "I was simply showing that I have made some bad choices financially. It happens! We're not above anyone else, we make bad choices and financially we get ourselves into holes. Things are good now."

Husband McDermott, 46, told Us Weekly the same thing last month. "Right now things are going well," he said. "Could we afford a vasectomy? Probably. Was it a tougher time for us financially? Yea. For sure. That's just the truth of it — it's the nature of this business."
