The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay has found love after divorce, but is a wedding in the cards?
“I mean, my romantic heart entertains it every time I’m with Tripp, but I don’t think I’ll ever get married again,” Heather, 52, exclusively told Us ahead of the Wednesday, September 16, season 7 premiere of RHOSLC. “I don’t want to, and marriage did not work out for me, and I just don’t see it as something I need.”
Heather, who shares three daughters with ex-husband Billy Gay, revealed in the season 7 premiere that she started dating a man named Tripp in late 2025 after a brief fling nine years earlier.
Before Heather could move forward with Tripp, she made sure that her children were on board. (Heather is the mom of daughters Ashley, 23, Georgia, 20, and Annabelle, 19.)
“It was really important to me that I got … all of my daughter’s approval. It was, like, a deal breaker,” she told Us. “So, [Georgia] was grilling him, and I was like, ‘Please go easy, don’t ask a question that I can’t recover from, you know, help a girl out here!’ But it’s the first time they’ve ever seen me with a man, so it made sense to give him the third degree. “
According to Heather, Georgia was “the hardest” on Tripp when they first met.
“They’re the closest now, I think of all the kids,” she acknowledged of Georgia’s change of heart. “He’s helping her move to L.A., he’s putting together all of her furniture, so they’ve come full circle.”
Heather initially met Tripp in 2016 when she hired him to help with the “man-fixes” around her then-new business, Beauty Lab + Laser. While their fling didn’t last long at the time, the duo eventually found their way back to one another.
“[We] definitely had to rebuild trust, but also I kind of just went into it, like, a lot less to lose now that it was just me,” she added, noting that “being an empty nester created space” in her home, heart and mind to “throw caution to the wind and just love for love’s sake.”
Heather continued, “I just felt, like, if he breaks my heart, it won’t affect my family. I’ll just be, and I think I can recover from that. He was worth the risk. … [It’s] the first time I’ve ever been rational or smart about love at all.”
Heather even introduced Tripp to the other Housewives during RHOSLC season 7.
“I really felt like the girls were so cool to Tripp and kind and didn’t give me a hard time and even Lisa [Barlow] at one point said, ‘I could go hard on you right now, but I’m not going to,’” she quipped of the season. “I think … maybe they sensed how vulnerable it was for me to do my relationship on camera and live it out, and so, I felt like everybody was, kind of, rooting for me this year. I felt a lot of support, and I felt like the friendships really deepened. It was a fun season.”
