A youth club attended by Chad Lowe’s late daughter Fiona is paying tribute to the teen following her death by suicide at age 13.
“Thank you Fiona. Thank you for all the beautiful years we were able to frolic, dance, laugh, and love each other,” the official Instagram account for Widget Works, a children’s camp and social club located in Santa Monica and the Pacific Palisades in California, shared on Friday, October 2. “Thank you for being such an important part of our Widget Works family and for sharing your love, creativity, and sweet sassiness with us.”
The organization continued, “We will miss you and we will look for you in every wave, every seagull squawk, and we will chant your name among the ‘we are proud of yous’ — we love and adore you and our hearts ache to be without you but you will forever be part of our summers and we will honor you and remember all the beautiful days we were blessed with you. We love you Fiona.”
Chad and his wife, Kim Painter, announced the loss of their daughter in a joint statement on Wednesday, September 30, describing Fiona as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.” (The parents also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.)
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the couple told multiple media outlets in their statement. “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. On Thursday, October 1, the L.A. medical examiner clarified that Fiona was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29. Her death was ruled a suicide, per the coroner’s office. (People first reported the news.)
Mabel, Fiona’s older sister, broke her silence in the wake of her sibling’s death on Saturday, October 3.
“I love you so much, Fiona ❤️,” Mabel, 17, wrote via Instagram alongside a carousel of throwback family photos. “I wish your short time here was easier, and I hope your mind is at ease now.”
She continued, “I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much.”
The Pretty Little Liars alum’s father, Chuck Lowe, has also publicly mourned his granddaughter’s passing in the wake of her untimely death.
“Rest in peace, sweet Fiona,” Chuck wrote via Instagram.
