Zooey Deschanel may not have walked away with the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series trophy at Sunday's Emmys, but the New Girl actress still snagged a pretty good consolation prize: The praise of new boyfriend Jamie Linden!
Up against Girls' Lena Dunham, Mike & Molly's Melissa McCarthy, Nurse Jackie's Edie Falco, 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Veep's Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the category, Deschanel — clad in a tulle Reem Acra gown — cozied up to screenwriter Linden as the category was announced, leaning into him and clasping his hands. (Veep's Dreyfus earned the category's ultimate honor.)
Sunday's Emmys mark three months into Deschanel and Linden's romance. The actress and her screenwriter boyfriend, who wrote scripts for the films 10 Years, Dear John and We Are Marshall, went public with their relationship in June at a Magic Mike after party.
"Jamie's a really nice guy," a source told Us in June of Linden. "He's funny, and a little geeky. . . he's into her!"
Deschanel, 32, split from Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard in December 2011 after two years of marriage.
