The former couple first met in 2007 while filming the retro comedy film, which wasn't released until 2011. Faris, 40, and Pratt, 38, played love interests Wendy Franklin and Kyle Masterson, respectively. She was married to actor Ben Indra at the time, but they divorced in 2008 after four years of marriage.

After tying the knot in 2009, Faris and Pratt reunited onscreen in the 2011 romantic comedy, in which she had a sex scene with actor Chris Evans. "We have an understanding of what we do for a living, and I think that if I was married to somebody who was, like, a schoolteacher or a different job, maybe it'd be a little harder for them to comprehend what exactly goes down and the sacrifices you have to make," Pratt said during a SiriusXM interview in 2016.

The Mom star and the Guardians of the Galaxy actor made a brief appearance on the Bravo reality series. In the 2012 episode "Even the Famous Come Home," contestants had to cater a homecoming party for the couple. Faris was pregnant with their son, Jack, now 4, at the time.

In "The Proposition," an extremely bizarre seven-minute segment from the 2013 anthology film, Faris' character, Vanessa, interrupted a picnic lunch with Pratt's character, Jason, to ask him, "Will you poop on me?" The scene cut to Jason taking a laxative, gorging on a burrito and, well, attempting to poop on Vanessa in the bedroom. After getting into an argument and storming outside, Jason was hit by a car and pooped all over the windshield. He then proposed to Vanessa, who said yes.
