A reality star romance? The Circle alum Nick Uhlenhuth sparked dating rumors with Bachelorette star Katie Thurston after the pair rang in the start of 2023 together.
“I couldn’t be more stoked for 2023. I truly think it’s gonna be an incredible year of personal growth and adventure. Buckle up!!!” Uhlenhuth captioned a series of Instagram snaps from his New Year’s Eve celebrations, including a shot of him dancing with Thurston. According to one TikTok user, the pair also shared a kiss in one picture that didn’t make it to their social media feeds.
The Washington native, for her part, also shared photos from the evening, including a solo shot with her fellow reality TV personality.
“I used to hate having a birthday so close to the New Year but now I love it! It’s this full circle moment each year that marks a brand new chapter,” she wrote via Instagram. “I’m excited to be 32 in 2023. In my gut, I just know, this is going to be one hell of a year and I’m so excited! 🥂 My 2023 mantra: Watch me 😎.”
Thurston’s outing with Uhlenhuth came after her June 2022 split from fellow Bachelor Nation alum John Hersey. The duo met during season 17 of The Bachelorette in 2021 but started out just as friends, with Thurston sending Hersey home during week two of the competition and later getting engaged to Blake Moynes.
Three months after the season finale aired in July 2021, Thurston and Moynes called it quits. That November, Us Weekly confirmed that the former bank marketing manager had moved on with Hersey. The duo confirmed that they had gone their separate ways the following June.
“I love being able to share special moments with you all — the funny ones, the happy ones, the outrageous, embarrassing and heartfelt ones. But I don’t know if it will ever get easier to share the sad ones,” Hersey wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “As Katie stated earlier, we are no longer dating. This decision was not made lightly, and it was obviously not an easy one to make.”
Despite enduring heartbreak in 2022, Thurston ended the year on a high note. “Starting off 2023 with a bang 🙌,” she commented on Uhlenhuth’s Instagram carousel of photos from New Year’s Eve. The Netflix personality, for his part, wished the aspiring comedian a happy birthday in the comments section of her social media post.
Uhlenhuth made his reality TV debut the same year as Thurston, appearing on season 3 of The Circle in September 2021. Dubbed “Daddy Nick” by fellow contestant Matthew Pappadia, the Kentucky native played as himself and came in fifth place.
