Metallica Rose Harrison reportedly told police that she wasn’t an “idiot” when she was arrested for killing her husband and their 3-year-old son during a family vacation to Great Wolf Lodge.
After Metallica, 27, waived her preliminary hearing on Tuesday, November 3, prosecutors sought to amend three details in her original affidavit of probable cause regarding the murders of her husband, Charles “Chaz” Harrison, and their son, Tristan, on October 12 at the resort in Scotrun, Pennsylvania.
In the original affidavit, Metallica was quoted telling an investigator that she was “suicidal, not stupid” as she refused to answer questions about the killings.
However, prosecutors have sought to correct her statement to, “I’m suicidal, I’m not an idiot,” according to the Daily Voice. The revised wording also notes that Metallica was not willing to speak to investigators about the killings.
Prosecutors also noted that the original affidavit described Tristan as having been stabbed one time in the chest. Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso has asked that the description be corrected to show that the child suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest, per the outlet.
A third proposed amendment stated that Detective Aaron Anglemyer was a coaffiant in the investigation, which was asked to be noted in the revised affidavit. Mancuso said that Anglemyer has served with the Pocono Township Police Department since 2008, and he was promoted to detective in 2024.
The new updates in the case were shared as Metallica waived her right to a preliminary hearing. In light of the decision, the case will proceed to Monroe County Court of Common Pleas without prosecutors first presenting evidence at a preliminary hearing.
Metallica signed the waiver with her attorney, Jason Allen Labar, while Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge approved it.
She will next appear in court for her formal arraignment on Thursday, January 7, 2027, at the Monroe County Courthouse. Metallica has not yet entered a plea after she was charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
As Us previously reported, authorities learned of the killings when Metallica called 911 to report the crime and express her desires to die by suicide.
When police reported to the resort, they found that she had allegedly stabbed Charles and Tristan and she also had wounds on her wrist and neck.
While speaking to authorities, Metallica said she worked hard to be “the best mother” and “the best wife.”
“My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” she allegedly told the 911 operator.
EMS personnel then reported at the scene, and Metallica reportedly told them that she had worked “so hard” every day “to be the best person” she could.
“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” she allegedly said.
