A mother and son in Florida were arrested following allegations of incest, which police learned about after they reported to the family’s home over a “domestic violence event.”
Christina Clemens has been charged with one count of incest and one count of living in open adultery, according to inmate records viewed by Us. Meanwhile, her son, Shane Clemens, was charged with one count of incest and one count of domestic violence battery, touch or strike.
Christina, 46, is being held on a $5,250 bond for both charges, while Shane, 22, is being held without a bond.
Shane was booked on August 21, while Christina was booked nearly one week later on August 27.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd detailed the incident in a video shared via social media on Tuesday, September 15. Judd explained that police were called to the family’s home after they received reports of a “domestic violence event” between Christina and Shane. Christina had called police claiming that Shane had attacked her.
“Shane, you ought not to ever lay a hand on your mama for a lot of reasons, but you have one more reason why you shouldn’t,” Judd said.
The case became more twisted when Judd revealed that Shane claimed to police that he had been having sex with his mother since he was 18 years old.
Police then spoke to Christina about Shane’s claim, and she told the officers that they had sex “only about 100 times.”
Investigators went to Christina’s husband to ask whether he was aware of the incest between his wife and Shane, and he responded, “No, I absolutely was not. But I think I am a little suspicious that they used to go in the master bedroom and lock the door.”
The husband added that he and Christina were “happily married.”
It’s not currently clear if either Shane or Christina have entered pleas following their arrests.
After the video was shared on Facebook, several people took to the comments section to express their shock over the story. “This has to be the craziest story he’s ever had to report,” one person wrote, while another chimed in, “Wtf did I just watch this came out of waaaay left field.”
One person said they wished they could “unhear” the story, and another added, “The gasp that I gasped.”
