Patrick Clancy and his wife, Rachel Danis, are speaking out for the first time since his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy’s trial ended in a mistrial.

Ahead of Patrick’s in a sit-down interview on 60 Minutes which airs on Sunday, September 20, the show announced via X that Danis will also be interviewed in the special. The couple began dating in February 2024 following his divorce from Lindsay, 36, and they wed in April.

While Patrick was a focal point in the trial, Danis remained behind the scenes as Lindsay was on trial for the deaths of the former couple’s kids Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023.

In addition to confirming Danis’ interview, CBS Mornings shared a teaser clip from the interview on Thursday, September 17.

“I talk to them,” he said of his three children . When asked what he tells them, Patrick said he asks for help “all the time.”

While Lindsay never denied killing Cora, Dawson and Callan, her defense argued she should not be held criminally responsible for their deaths because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time. Meanwhile, the prosecution argued that Lindsay understood what she was doing at the time of the killings.

Patrick went out to run errands at the time the crimes took place, and he returned home to find Lindsay injured after she jumped from the second story of their home in an apparent suicide attempt which left her paralyzed from the waist down. As he called 911, Patrick discovered that all of their children had been strangled to death.

He was involved in the trial and was the first witness to testify. The trial lasted nearly seven weeks and ended in a mistrial after one holdout juror refused to find Lindsay not guilty by reason of insanity.

As the trial made national headlines, conspiracy theories began to swirl that Patrick was involved in his kids’ deaths. He is expected to discuss the theories on 60 Minutes, which he called “deeply harmful to the legacy of his children” and a “distraction to perinatal mental health.”

Prior to his interview, Patrick’s attorney also issued a statement about the claims and threatened legal action against those spreading the conspiracy rumors.

“Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign,” attorney Howard Cooper said. “This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods that Patrick was somehow involved in the death of his young children and other vile claims.”

Cooper added that the allegations created “real life threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life” and said that Patrick wanted to focus on “preserving the memory of Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy and supporting other women facing perinatal mental health challenges.”

“This spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop,” Cooper continued. “Those responsible should understand that there will be consequences, and every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally. Law enforcement has been notified.”
