Angelina Stone, a pregnant mom who was fatally shot by her father alongside seven other victims in a murder-suicide, gushed about the “blessing” that was her future baby boy just days before her expected due date.
On September 25, Angelina, 24, took to Facebook to share ultrasounds of her future son, who she planned to name Kyrie.
“@36 wks 2d Kyrie Ramirez S. Maaaamass Chunky Boy Omg His Face Is Sooo Chunky,” she captioned photos of the ultrasounds. “A Blessing In My Eyes Momma Cant Wait To Hold Yooouu.”
Angelina was just days away from giving birth on Monday, October 12, when she was killed by her father in a horrific murder-suicide.
Authorities said that Matthew Stone Sr. killed Angelina and her daughter, Amari’anna, 22 months, and Isiah, 5, at a home in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday, October 9, alongside his sons Matthew Stone Jr., 21, and Jonathan Stone, and his wife, Michelle Stone. He then killed relative Lora Roberts and family friend Twila Tanner before he died by suicide.
Police have not yet shared if they believe Matthew Sr., 45, had a motive in the killings, though they suggested his mental health struggles may have played a role.
Video and audio evidence obtained by investigators revealed that muffled gunshot sounds were heard coming from inside the home. Roberts, 57, and Tanner, 51, then ran to the home and started banging on the door before Matthew Sr. emerged. He shot both of the women before he died by suicide.
The investigation into the case remains ongoing, and officials are in the process of speaking with relatives and going through Roberts and Tanner’s cellphones to establish what happened.
Following the tragedy, several GoFundMe pages have been set up to help the surviving family members of the victims.
In a page set up in honor of Angelina, page creator Aaliyah Williams said that she was fundraising money to help her family after the “unthinkable tragedy.”
“Angelina’s father killed Angelina and her children in a murder-suicide, and now our family is facing the painful task of laying them to rest,” Williams wrote.”We have no finances ready to cover this loss, and we have only two weeks from today to get everything done. The funds from this fundraiser will go toward funeral expenses and the fees related to their final arrangements so they can be sent off correctly.”
Williams said that the situation was “more than our family can carry alone right now, and we truly need the community to rally around us.”
“Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and help us give Angelina, Isiah, Amari’anna, and Kyrie the farewell they deserve,” she wrote. “If you are not able to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers. These finds are going [straight] to Amari’anna’s father to support the funeral.”
