Don’t mess with Jess! 19 Kids and Counting dedicated an entire episode to engaged sister Jessa Duggar, 22, as the eve of her wedding neared and she prepared to move out of her family’s Arkansas house.
While ostensibly “All About Jessa” documented a joint bachelor and bachelorette party-and-family football game — which Jessa’s fiancé, Ben Seewald, 19, played against his future father-in-law and his own father (and lost) — it really served as a way for the Duggar family to pay tribute to their ultra-organized, beloved sister as she geared up to start her own family. Here’s what we learned about her.
She’s a great teacher
Jessa took on the responsibility of teaching her younger siblings school — and even though they hated it, they knew she was right. “We respected Jessa as a teacher. She pretty much knew what she was talking about all the time. And even if we disagreed with her or thought she was wrong, looking back she was right,” said 16-year-old Jedidiah.
She’s a disciplinarian
The house motto was “don’t mess with Jess” — not because she’s mean, but because she has no problem wielding authority or calling people out when they need to do something. “I don’t have a problem being the bad guy,” Jessa revealed.
Jim-Bob and Michelle love their daughter
The episode looked back on many sweet family memories — like a father-daughter camping trip Jessa and her sisters took with Jim Bob, or the birthday skydiving trip Jessa took with Michelle.
Jinger might miss Jessa the most
Jinger, 21, and Jessa are a little more than a year apart, and are ultra-close because of it. “Jess and I are definitely besties,” Jinger confessed.
Jessa is incredibly organized
“With a family our size if you let things go and just let clutter build up the house gets messier and messier,” Jim Bob said — which is where Jessa came in and cracked the whip. She said simply, “I like having a schedule and a plan and knowing what needs to be done.”
She’s an expert packer
“It’s very rare if Jessa might forget something,” mom Michelle revealed — although one time on a big family trip, they couldn’t find socks and underwear for the eight youngest boys.
She’s adventurous
See: skydiving trip referenced above. “She’s always the one to jump up and be one of the first to do things,” Jinger said.
Ben’s a catch
One thing’s for sure — as much as the Duggars love their Jessa, her now-husband Ben loves her too. “The real prize is marrying Jessa,” Ben said when he lost the football game.
19 Kids and Counting airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
