Although Nicholas Sparks movies — a la The Notebook and A Walk to Remember — all focus on love, the stars of two of the author's latest flicks felt anything but!

Amanda Seyfried, who stars alongside Channing Tatum in Dear John (out today), joked that Miley Cyrus is lucky her Sparks-inspired movie, called The Last Song, will open two months later.

"If The Last Song was coming out the same weekend as Dear John, we'd have to collaborate on some sort of sabotage mission," the actress, 24, told MTV.

"I'd burn it," Tatum added. "I'd sabotage it somehow."

Still, the 29-year-old actor notes that The Last Song is "not any more competition than all the rest" of Sparks' movies, which he says "are very, very separate from each other" with one overriding theme — love.

Plus, The Last Song — which also stars Cyrus' new beau Liam Hemsworth — is not hitting theaters until March 31.

"We're not competing for the same weekend," Tatum says.

So why should audiences see Seyfried and Tatum fall in love in Dear John?

"Not to be cheesy or melodramatic [but] everyone wants to feel loved and that their love is special," he says. "And when they read about these once-in-a-lifetime sort of relationships and loves, it's a great place to go away and escape."
