From Comedy Central to the MTV stage! Stand-up comedian, writer, and actress Amy Schumer will be hosting the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12. The annual show will be airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles starting at 9 p.m. ET.
Schumer, 33, is best known for her popular Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer, which was renewed for a third season this summer.
At 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 10, Schumer took over MTV’s social media accounts, tweeting, Facebooking, SnapChatting, running Tumblr, and Instagramming her original material before leading up to the big announcement. The takeover marked the first time the network has ever handed over its social media accounts to a single person.
The news comes just days after Deadline revealed that the Emmy nominee will be producing a new Comedy Central pilot starring fellow comedian Rachel Feinstein that will “explore and skewer gender, class, and stereotypical issues in sketch and character-driven pieces.”
