Anderson Cooper thinks Kate Gosselin needs to get a grip.
On Monday's episode of Kate + 8, the 36-year-old single mom went into hysterics over the last slice of pizza. While on a cross-country trip with her brood, a babysitter and bodyguard Steve, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant went berserk on Ashley, the nanny, for not saving Steve the final slice. Cooper, 44, found Gosselin's explosive behavior ridiculous.
"It is a cautionary tale," Cooper said Tuesday night on CNN. "If you somehow, against all odds, find a woman who's willing to help you take eight kids on a cross-country road trip, for goodness sake, let her divide the pizza any way she wants."
When Gosselin demanded that the kids "eat salads" and give Steve the final slice, one of the children handed it to him. "That's disgusting!" she screamed. "Why didn't you wrap it in foil?"
Cooper quipped: "Middle-aged bodyguards can get pretty cranky if their routine is thrown off: You know, lunch, juice box, pinkie, nap."
The babysitter tearfully quit, unable to put up with another minute of Gosselin, leaving the reality star and Steve alone with Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.
The final episode of Kate + 8 airs this Monday at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
