The Avengers are back!
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, an early peek at the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron leaked, prompting Marvel to release the full teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel one week early. The two-minute clip offers fans their first look at the highly anticipated superhero film, which is due out on May 1, 2015.
The preview opens with an introduction of Ultron, the intelligent robot, voiced by James Spader, who poses a major threat to the future of mankind.
"I'm gonna show you something beautiful," he says, as scenes of destruction are shown. "Everyone screaming for mercy. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change."
He then confronts the team of superheroes, facing Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), among others.
"You're all puppets, tangled in strings, strings," Ultron tells the heroes. "There are no strings on me."
Set to a spooky version of "I've Got No Strings" from Disney's Pinocchio, the trailer continues with shots of the Avengers fighting to save the world and themselves amongst explosions, transformations, and invasions.
