Holy guest stars, Batman! The Big Bang Theory is marking its 200th episode with a, well, bang, as Adam West and Sara Gilbert are both set to appear on the popular CBS sitcom for its pivotal milestone.
West, who starred in TV’s Batman in the 1960s, is set to play himself in the episode, marking his first appearance on the series. A number of notable guests will be returning to the series for the celebration, including Gilbert (Leslie), Christine Baranski (Leonard’s mom), John Ross Bowie (Barry) and Wil Wheaton as himself.
The episode will air on February 25, and plot details have not yet been released. Baranski, Bowie and Wheaton all make regular appearances on the series, but Gilbert’s character hasn’t been seen since the season 3 finale, when her ex Leonard (Johnny Galecki) tried to rekindle things with her. Gilbert and Galecki also played a couple on Roseanne, and the pair dated in real life before she realized she was a lesbian.
This is certainly not the first time West has portrayed himself on a comedy series, as he is perhaps best known in recent years for voicing Family Guy‘s clueless mayor. He has also played himself on such series as 30 Rock, King of Queens and NewsRadio.
Big Bang Theory — starring Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Kaley Cuoco (Penny) and Galecki — continues to pull in huge ratings in its ninth season, currently ranking as the top comedy in the key 18-49 demo. The series’ head writer, Steven Molaro, recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the show may sign off after season 10.
The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST.
