Kept in the dark. Julie Chen revealed to the Big Brother: Over the Top houseguests that Donald Trump had been elected president over Hillary Clinton — and their mouths dropped.
The host broke the news of the Republican’s win to the isolated contestants during a house meeting on Thursday, November 10, two days after the election.
“I think it is pretty safe to say that you are the only six people in the country, maybe in the entire world, who do not know who won,” she said. “It’s time to find out. As you remember, the election was between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The next president of the United States will be … Donald Trump.”
Some of the six reality stars gasped while others sat in stunned disbelief. Chen, meanwhile, said her goodbyes and left them struggling to process the news.
“She’s joking,” Shelby Stockton said.
“Oh my God, I cannot believe that. Gay people where were you? Minorities where were you?” Jason Roy added. “Can we just stay in here for the next four years?”
The cast, who have been playing the game since September and didn’t get the chance to vote, pleaded for Chen to return and help them understand Trump’s win.
Stockton asked: “What the f–k happened while we were in here?”
