Suit up! Brie Larson is in talks to play Captain Marvel in a stand-alone movie, Variety reports.

According to the site, the Room actress, 26, is the studio's first choice for the popular female superhero Carol Danvers, and reportedly she has been contacted about the role, though it's unclear how far the negotiations have gotten.

The upcoming project will be produced by Kevin Feige, who is currently working on Chris Pratt's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming. No director is attached yet.

The Oscar winner would be joining a long list of stars who are already a part of the Marvel family. Some of the celebs involved in the comic-book film franchise include Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and newcomer Tom Holland (Spider-Man).

The potential casting news comes nearly four months after Larson picked up an Academy Award for her work in Room. Next, she can be seen in the crime drama Free Fire and the romantic comedy Basmati Blues.
