Daniel Durant is giving his wife, Britt Stewart, her flowers after a shocking elimination on Dancing With the Stars.
“I’m so proud of Britt. I feel so lucky to witness behind the scenes just how incredibly hard she works,” Durant, 36, wrote via his Instagram Story on Tuesday, September 29. “She has so much passion, and she was so excited to be partnered with Taylor [Hanson].”
Stewart, 37, was paired up with the Hanson band member for season 35 of DWTS, which premiered earlier this month.
Although they didn’t receive the lowest scores from the judges in the first three weeks of competition, the pair were eliminated on Tuesday’s episode after Yacht Rock Night.
“It’s been so much fun watching them grow, learn from each other and give everything they have to this journey on DWTS. They truly gave it their absolute best,” Durant shared in his social media post. “Of course, it’s heartbreaking to see what happened tonight. But Britt is Britt Stewart — one of the sweetest people I know. She always makes sure everyone around her is OK. She works incredibly hard, she inspires her community, and she is an AMAZING dancer.”
When cohosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro announced that Stewart and Hanson, 43, had the lowest number of votes, the pair’s reaction said it all.
Both parties had shocked expressions on their faces, with Stewart quickly apologizing to her partner for the earlier than expected elimination.
The results even led judge Carrie Ann Inaba to speak out when she replied to a TikTok edit, writing, “This hurt. Britt is so talented.”
Stewart and Durant were partnered together on season 31 of DWTS in 2022. After the show wrapped, their friendship turned romantic, and they officially confirmed their relationship on Valentine’s Day in 2023. Two years later, the couple got married in front of family and friends.
“No matter what,” Durant said in his latest post, “I’m so proud of her always.”
Stewart’s elimination comes weeks after she celebrated her birthday. In honor of her special day, the professional dancer received another heartfelt message from her husband.
“You have such a beautiful heart, and I feel like the luckiest man in the world to call you my wife,” he wrote via Instagram on September 21. “You deserve all the love, happiness and celebration today and every day. … I love you more than words can say, and I can’t wait to keep making more memories and growing together with you ❤️.”
