Hearts with Orlando. Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas joined Andra Day on Saturday, July 2, to pay tribute to the victims of last month’s shooting at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub.
Lovato and Jonas decided it was important to do something special to honor those who lost their lives in the tragic incident, as the musical stars’ Honda Civic tour rolled into Florida.
Teaming up with Day, the trio remembered those who died during the June 12 shooting, by singing an emotional rendition of "Rise Up." The musicians also included the sad death of former The Voice singer Christina Grimmie in their memorial tribute.
But there was more to it than that: the big-hearted celebs also gifted Pulse nightclub employees with tickets to their gig and provided them with a private suite at the show, TMZ reported.
"Nick Jonas & Demi Lovato, thank you for making the pulse family smile #onepulse #orlandostrong #pulseorlando," a Facebook post from the nightclub workers read. "We will rise and not be defeated! #onepulse #pulseorlando."
Taking to Instagram after the gig, Jonas, 23, thanked the crowd for allowing them to pay their respects. “Orlando you were incredible last night," the former boy-bander wrote. "Thank you @andradaymusic for helping DEMI and I are honor the victims of the terrible acts of violence recently,” Jonas wrote on Instagram after the concert."
"I adore you Miami,” added Lovato, also 23. “Thank you. #loveislove ❤ #hondacivictour @futurenowtour."
