Just because they’re dating in real life doesn’t mean Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have chemistry … on Saturday Night Live, that is. When the British Amazing Spider-Man 2 star, 30, hosted the show’s May 3 episode, his costar and girlfriend, 25, stepped in to help out.
After hosting the show several times, Stone offered her “assistance” during Garfield’s nerve-filled opening monologue and later appeared in a sketch where they pretended to be shooting a passionate kissing scene in Spider-Man 2.
Hard as they tried, the couple couldn’t seem to get their kiss to look natural, licking each other’s faces, sucking the air out of one another’s mouths, and even putting their mouth’s around one another’s chins.
Luckily, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin made a cameo to help out the web-slinger with his onscreen passion. Pushing Stone aside, Gwyneth Paltrow‘s ex, 37, quickly lunged at Garfield with his tongue out, making for a pretty strange ending to the Marvel sequel.
