Amy Schumer Gets Bleeped, Talks About Tampon During Awkward Emmys 2016 Interview With Giuliana Rancic

Well, that was odd. Amy Schumer was bleeped out during an awkward interview with E!’s Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet at the 2016 Emmys at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Sunday, September 18.

The comedian, 35, — who walked up with her sister and business partner, Kim Caramele, to chat with Rancic — made a comment that censors cut due to its apparent inappropriateness. “Let me not expose my [inaudible],” the Trainwreck actress said, as seen in the video above. (Many social media users speculated that Schumer’s remark involved a NSFW term for her private parts.)

The Fashion Police host responded with nervous laughter and the Inside Amy Schumer star — who was nominated for multiple awards at Sunday night's ceremony — jokingly clarified: “My clique, my friends!”

After Schumer told Rancic how excited she was to be at the show, the TV host pressed her about her experience at the 2016 Met Gala back in May. The comedian previously slammed the prestigious fashion event and described attending it it as unforeseen “punishment.”

“It’s like the hottest, fiercest people and they’re all like posing and I’m just kind of like a gym teacher … I’m like a softball coach,” she explained. “But, you know, and you try to do your best and you’re like, ‘I’m trash from Long Island and everyone can see that very clearly.’”

Rancic then went on to ask Schumer where she keeps her awards at home — a query that the Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo author did not seem happy about. “You’re really asking that question?” she fired back.

After a brief pause, Schumer decided to entertain Rancic’s question. “OK, they’re in my laundry room. Here’s why: I’m friends with all comedians and they keep you really humble and nobody wants to walk in and see your trophies,” she said. “They would throw them in the trash. Yeah, they’re a mean group. You’ve gotta keep yourself humble, but we’re very honored to be here. I don’t want to downplay that. It’s really satisfying to be nominated and be recognized.”

And just when you thought the ladies’ exchange just might end on a normal note, Schumer decided to make things a little weird again with her response to Rancic’s simple inquiry about her red carpet attire. “Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford shoes and an O.B. tampon!” she said, listing off her designer duds and then some.

Schumer then launched into some, er, interesting dance moves. “Ooh, ooh, hello, hello!” she added. “I’m available for hosting gigs!”
